Do you know the feeling of getting a new car? When the fascia, the wheels and the body work gleams wonderfully and you almost laugh with joy just looking at it? Well I get that feeling every month. And it costs me just £10!
The guy at the valeting company round the corner always smiles when you arrive (first tick), then he is happy despite your choosing the second cheapest option (second tick), then two more guys tumble enthusiastically out of their incredibly shabby shed and you walk away looking forward to getting delivery of your new car in just 20 minutes.
25 minutes later you go back to pick up your new car and you always find one guy just doing the finishing touches – he seems to like my car more than I do and I feel guilty that I don’t look after the car like he does! The car has been de-dogged, de-mudded and is literally as shiny and clean as any car in a flash showroom.
Then I happily hand over the £10 and drive off with a silly smug happy grin on my face. If only every service or product I bought gave me that feeling.
